Five Days on the Swedish West Coast. This Is Why We Do It

This summer, North Trampoline headed to Uddevalla on the Swedish west coast for the West Coast Playground Festival - a five-day outdoor celebration of parkour, freestyle trampoline and everything in between. Set against the fjords and open skies of the West Coast, WCPF brings together the world's most talented young athletes to compete, train and simply move together.

We've been proud partners of WCPF since its very first event in 2024. What drew us in then is exactly what draws us in now: a shared belief that movement is transformative, that it builds courage and determination, and that the best things happen when a community gathers around a common joy.

This year, we were delighted to present the Freestyle Trampoline competition - watching athletes fly through the air in an outdoor setting, combining the precision of trampolining with the creativity of parkour, is a reminder of what's possible when you give people the right tools and the freedom to use them.

Parkour and trampolining might seem like different disciplines, but they share the same spirit. Both ask you to look at the world around you and ask: what if? Both reward courage, flow, and commitment. And both are for everyone - from the seasoned competitor landing a double twist to the first-time jumper discovering that feeling of weightlessness.

That connects to something close to our hearts at North: rebound therapy. While festival athletes push the boundaries of what the human body can do in the air, trampolines are also quietly changing lives in a very different way. Rebound therapy uses the gentle, rhythmic motion of trampolining as a therapeutic tool for people with physical, neurological and developmental differences. It builds balance, strengthens the body, stimulates the senses, and - just as importantly - brings joy. The same bounce that launches a parkour athlete into a backflip can also help a child with additional needs find their rhythm, their confidence, their own version of flight.
This is why we believe in trampolines beyond the garden. Whether it's an elite athlete at WCPF reaching for the sky, or a child in a therapy session finding their feet, the trampoline is the same thing in both cases: a tool for releasing the greatness that's already there.

There is greatness in everyone. We just love helping it get some air.
